Job summary

Nexxta, a U.S.-based manufacturer with multiple Great Lakes facilities, seeks a seasoned Tool & Die Maker to support plastic injection mold tooling, repair, and maintenance. You will read blueprints, set up tool room equipment, and verify tolerances to ensure timely, high-quality mold production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tool & die, CAD familiarity, and the ability to coordinate with production teams. Knowledge of CNC operations is a plus, and safety standards must be followed.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's Card in Tool & Die Making preferred; 5 years’ experience expected.
• Experience in tool room for plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints and tool drawings.
• Able to read machine shop gauges and indicators.
• Knowledge of plastic injection mold design/terms helpful.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, CAD).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble injection molding tools for maintenance and revisions.
• Inspect tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for condition and conformance.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine tools and parts required.
• Set up and operate tool room equipment including lathes, mills, grinders.
• Use CAD to determine component sizes and suggested modifications.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using gages and indicators.
• Transport tooling between production and tool room with forklift.
• Observe machine operation to identify tool/mold issues and address them.
