Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging seeks a skilled Tool & Die Maker to repair and condition plastic injection dies and fixtures. You will program and edit in CAD/CAM (NX/SolidWorks) and perform complex machine set-ups, working to minimize downtime with mold maintenance and production teams.

Strong reading of blueprints, troubleshooting ability, and independent work style are essential. HS diploma required; anAssociates or Journeyman certificate preferred; Safety PPE provided on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
• Associate degree or technical training and/or 5+ years of related experience is desired.
• Journeyman Tool and Die Maker Certificate is highly desired but not required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret prints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, plan, lay out and perform bench, machine and finishing operations to alter dies and fixtures.
• Proficiently program and edit in CAD/CAM – NX/SolidWorks a plus.
• Perform difficult machine set-ups and improvisation of tools for adaptation.
• Support production to minimize downtime and work with mold maintenance.
• Verify finished work against specifications and assemble as required.
