Job summary

NEXXTA in Mishawaka, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to assemble, maintain, and repair plastic injection mold tooling. You will read blueprints, set up tools on lathes, mills and grinders, and verify tolerances with gauges and indicators.

The ideal candidate has a Journeyworker Card in Tool & Die Making (5+ years preferred; 8 years considered) and proven ability to interpret drawings, use CAD, and coordinate tooling projects.

Qualifications

• Journeyworker's Card in Tool & Die Making with 5+ years' experience preferred; eight years considered without the card.
• 3 to 5 years of experience using hand operated tool room equipment with mold repair experience.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding tool design and construction.
• Knowledge of plastic injection mold making terminology.
• Able to read blue prints and tool drawings.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, CAD)
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble a variety of injection molding tools for general maintenance, repairs, and revisions.
• Inspect tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for condition and conformance to tooling standards.
• Comprehend specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions.
• Visualize product to determine materials required and machines used to fabricate parts.
• Setup and operate tool room equipment needed to build, repair, revise and service molds, fixtures and related tools in a correct and timely manner.
