Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Tooling Manager 1 to lead the tooling team onsite in Palmdale, CA. You will apply current tooling concepts to support production transitions and sustained operations, driving standardization and risk management while guiding a diverse team.

The role requires managing personnel, maintaining tool readiness, and aligning with program needs across shifts and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED with 5 years of related experience in manufacturing, aerospace, tooling or fabrication.
• At least 1 year of prior management or leadership experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SAP access as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on tooling/manufacturing concepts and technologies to support production transitions.
• Provide tooling support for build and maintenance activities across transitions and sustained production.
• Establish and improve processes for PAICoE program efforts and cross-functional alignment.
• Promote standard tool sets and processes across programs and IPTs; collaborate with Tooling Management.
• Monitor risk items and ensure timely mitigating actions; drive continuous improvement.
