Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Utah is seeking a Manager Tool Die Making 2 to lead a team of 15–25 hourly staff, metrology engineers, and level 1 managers across multiple programs, shaping statements of work and cross-functional training.

You will drive on-schedule, on-budget delivery, apply Lean and EVMS for cost control, and advance tooling metrology inspections through collaboration with Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Must have 2 years of prior management/leadership experience.
• Must be available to manage across shifts.
• Must have an active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable period of time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of 15 to 25 hourly non-exempt employees, metrology engineers, and/or level 1 managers.
• Manage and coordinate metrology activities across programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed.
• Own responsibility for program and technical performance while providing objective-oriented directions to hard lined or dotted line reporting personnel.
• Monitor and manage risk items to ensure mitigating actions are effective and timely.
• Promote Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Manage personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development and training, succession planning, and EVMS utilization for direct costs.
