Job summary

Amsted Automotive’s Transform division in Sterling Heights is seeking Tool and Die Makers to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize dies in press environments. You’ll interpret blueprints and GD&T, set up tools, and support Lean initiatives to ensure quality and efficiency.

Applicants should have five years in metal stamping or die work, know IATF16949/ISO14001, and be able to read CMM data. Overtime may be required to meet customer demand in a fast-paced factory setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in blueprint GD&T interpretation for Dies, Details, and Part Prints.
• Minimum five years in Metal Stamping, Prototype, Tool and Die Build or Die Repair.
• Experience with IATF16949/ISO14001 and Q1 environmental standards helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret CMM or gaging information and adjust tooling to meet specs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and optimize transfer and line dies in press operations.
• Operate tool room equipment and machinery with precision.
• Support press setup and improve efficiency as part of the team.
• Adhere to safety procedures and environmental guidelines; overtime as needed.
