Job summary

Dayton Industries, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Tool and Die Maker for our Bronx, NY facility. This full-time, on-site role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling used in metal stamping.

You will read blueprints, set up manual and CNC machines, and verify part dimensions with precision instruments. The ideal candidate has 3+ years as a tool and die maker or apprenticeship training, strong metallurgical knowledge, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances (GD&T).
• Operate manual and CNC machines for tooling fabrication and repair.
• Construct, assemble, fit, and repair dies and tooling for stamping operations.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions.
• Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment for dies and tooling selection.
• Diagnose tooling and stamping issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement fixes.
• Commit to safe work practices and proper guarding per standards.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Experience as tool and die maker or completion of relevant apprenticeship/technical training preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a tool and die maker.

Responsibilities
