Job summary

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and work with jigs and fixtures to meet specifications. You will disassemble and reassemble tooling, perform drilling, tapping, deburring, welding, and fabrication, test and adjust machines, and keep the shop organized and safe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machining and alteration of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Ability to read and draw basic prints and understand shop goals.
• Thorough knowledge of machine shop practices, machine tool operations, mechanics, and material properties.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability and strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Use manual machining equipment to build fixtures and machine parts.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and complex schematics to create and build new fixtures, tools, and parts.
• Inspect completed tools and dies for imperfections or damage that affect functionality.
• Perform drilling, tapping, deburring, welding, and fabrication to improve quality.
• Test and regularly maintain equipment, tools, and machines to ensure proper setup and efficiency.
• Modify machine parameters to meet product specifications.
• Keep the shop and tools clean, organized, and safe; plan next steps in processes.
