Job summary

Mestek, Inc. seeks a Tool and Die Maker to read prints, set up machines, and produce dies to exact tolerances. You will measure parts with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and operate drills, lathes, and grinders under supervision.

Maintain dies inventory, document maintenance, inspect finished work, and follow all safety rules. Requires HS or trade schooling; lifting up to 100 lbs and regular attendance a must.

Qualifications

• High School or trade school graduate; certification preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and prints.
• Ability to read a measuring tape and use precision tools.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Works from prints, specifications, charts, and orders.
• Uses micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, and hand tools.
• Sets up and operates drill presses, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
• Selects, adjusts, changes, and sharpens tools, jigs, fixtures, etc.
• Adjusts speeds, feeds, stops, limits, and guides; maintains dies.
• Maintains dies inventory and maintenance records; reports shortages.
• Disassembles/reassembles dies; performs tool/die changes.
• Adheres to safety rules and uses PPE; keeps area neat.
• Ensures compliance to specs and prints; performs routine maintenance.
