Based in Erlanger, KY, this position requires a skilled professional to manage the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of essential production components including molds, dies, and fixtures. By collaborating closely with the production staff, you will ensure that all equipment functions optimally to meet strict quality standards and maximize operational uptime.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate manual machining tools to fabricate parts and construct necessary fixtures.
- Restore functionality to molds, jigs, and tools through disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
- Utilize complex schematics and blueprints to guide the creation of new tooling and parts.
- Examine finished dies and tools to identify any defects that could compromise their performance.
- Execute fabrication tasks such as welding, tapping, and drilling to enhance the overall quality of output.
- Maintain equipment and conduct regular testing to support peak operational efficiency.
- Adjust machine settings like feed rates and cutting paths to ensure products align with exact specifications.
- Foster a productive environment by maintaining an organized, clean, and safe workspace while planning upcoming tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated background working as a professional Tool and Die Maker.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience modifying and creating jigs, dies, tools, and fixtures.
- Capacity to interpret and draft technical prints while aligning work with shop objectives.
- Comprehensive understanding of material science, mechanical principles, and standard machine shop operations.
- Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude with a focus on precision to resolve complex issues.
- Expertise in utilizing precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and scales.
- Solid grasp of trigonometric principles, mathematical formulas, and handbook data.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute both independently and within a collaborative team.
