Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Tool Die Maker 3 & 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Tooling organization. This leadership role is located in El Segundo, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lays out, fabricates, and assembles metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications.

  • Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Computes dimensions; determines machining and material or parts required.

  • Performs precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommends revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solves problems relating to unusual materials, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

Tool Die Maker 3

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing, aerospace, tooling, and/or fabrication industries/experience

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access

  • Must be available to work any shift

  • Composite Layup and Composite Repair Capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with tool kitting and crib inventory/management

  • Experience working with CribMaster or similar

Tool Die Maker 4

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing, aerospace, tooling, and/or fabrication industries/experience

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access

  • Must be available to work any shift

  • Composite Layup and Composite Repair Capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with tool kitting and crib inventory/management

  • Experience working with CribMaster or similar

Salary Range: $64,600.00 - $107,600.00Salary Range 2: $76,800.00 - $128,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
