Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate standard machine shop tools and CNC machinery to make tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts per blueprints.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Assist Engineering in tool, jig, fixture, mold, and machine part designs.
• Maintain and update blueprints.
• Create/modify tooling designs using CAD/CAM software.
• Read 3D models and GD&T perSpecifications.
• Use precision inspection equipment to verify parts.
• Support molding department with mold processing.

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker.

The hourly rate for this position is $34.61 per hour.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for maintaining all plant tooling which includes (but not limited to) molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. The incumbent will ensure that all related standards with respect to cost, efficiency, personnel, and health and safety are maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. 1. Operates standard machine shop tools and CNC controlled machinery to make tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts to the blueprint specifications
2. 2. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures to maximize tooling life and minimize downtime.
3. 3. Assists Engineering in the design of tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts
4. 4. Maintains existing and new blueprints
5. 5. Create and modify tooling designs using CAD/CAM software as required
6. 6. Read and interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
7. 7. Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, Optical Comparator, CMM, and other quality measurement devices.
8. 8. Assists Molding Department with mold processing when applicable
9. 9. Maintains working knowledge of heat treating all tool steels and their characteristics for its proper use
10. 10. Maintains working knowledge of the Rockwell Hardness tester on ferrous and non-ferrous metals
11. 11. Maintains a powered industrial truck license to move molds with forklift, crane, and other mechanical devices
12. 12. Follows environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures
13. 13. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 1. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
2. 2. Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
3. 3. Minimum of 4 years experience operating CNC making tools
4. 4. Must possess skills in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
5. 5. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee
6. 6. Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours
