Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for the ES AMER PCS division. You will operate CNC tooling, read blueprints with GD&T, and perform preventive maintenance on dies and molds.

You will design tooling with CAD/CAM, interpret 3D models, and use precision instruments to ensure quality. Must be able to lift 35 lbs and stand up to 8 hours. Position based in the US.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience operating CNC tools.
  • Experience with CNC tooling and precision measurement tools.
  • ITAR requires US person as defined by ITAR.
  • Stand for extended periods up to 8 hours.
  • Lift up to 35 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Operate standard machine shop tools and CNC machinery to make tools per blueprints.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Assist Engineering in designing tools, jigs, molds, and parts.
  • Read 3D models and GD&T, maintain blueprints.
  • Create/modify tooling designs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Inspect with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM.
  • Assist Molding Dept with mold processing as needed.
  • Apply heat treating knowledge to tool steels and use Rockwell tests.

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker.The hourly rate for this position is $34.61 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:PRIMARY FUNCTION:This position is responsible for maintaining all plant tooling which includes (but not limited to) molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. The incumbent will ensure that all related standards with respect to cost, efficiency, personnel, and health and safety are maintained.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Operates standard machine shop tools and CNC controlled machinery to make tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts to the blueprint specifications2. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures to maximize tooling life and minimize downtime.3. Assists Engineering in the design of tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, and machine parts4. Maintains existing and new blueprints5. Create and modify tooling designs using CAD/CAM software as required6. Read and interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications7. Proficient in the use of precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, Optical Comparator, CMM, and other quality measurement devices.8. Assists Molding Department with mold processing when applicable9. Maintains working knowledge of heat treating all tool steels and their characteristics for their proper use10. Maintains working knowledge of the Rockwell Hardness tester on ferrous and non-ferrous metals11. Maintains a powered industrial truck license to move molds with forklift, crane, and other mechanical devices12. Follows environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures13. Performs other duties as assignedQualifications:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:1. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship2. Must possess skills in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools5. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
