Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a tooling engineer to design, program, and build dies and production tooling with emphasis on cost efficiency and accuracy.

You will oversee diverse tooling projects, mentor staff, and ensure safety and quality standards are met in a high-output manufacturing environment. The role requires expertise in injection molding, CNC programming, and MasterCAM, with strong mathematical and measurement skills to maintain precision across complex tooling programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding.
• Proficient with MasterCAM.
• Proficient at CNC programming and able to operate a CNC without assistance.
• Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use complex measuring devices and fixtures.
• Experience with toolmaking is a nice to have, but is not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership and improve productivity while reducing scrap and rework, and maintain production schedule.
• Train incoming personnel and cooperate with management.
• Instruct others in the safety rules and policies of the plant.
• Design, program, and build dies at all levels of complexity, including wax dies, ceramic core dies, inspection fixtures, and tooling.
• Quote the design and manufacturing cost of new tools and reworks.
• Supervise and troubleshoot in-house tooling projects and coordinate with design/engineering.
