Job summary

Toyota Long Beach is seeking a Tool & Die Group Leader to supervise a high-volume stamping die team. You will repair, maintain, and troubleshoot dies on the production line, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and experience with Maximo CMMS. Based in Long Beach, CA, this second-shift position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for continuous improvement through TBP/Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and team building abilities.
• Hands-on stamping die repair and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of sheet metal stamping processes (cutting/forming).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with Maximo or CMMS systems for documentation.
• Continuous improvement mindset with safety/quality focus.
• Effective presentation and organizational skills.
• Experience coaching skilled trades in manufacturing.
• Automotive stamping background is a plus.
• Familiarity with TBP, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Tool & Die operations focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Supervise and develop Tool & Die team members with safe practices.
• Coordinate stamping die maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Estimate repair timelines and prioritize work with production needs.
• Provide hands-on support for die repair and continuous improvement.
• Verify repair quality and document work in Maximo.
• Maintain tooling inventory and repair material readiness.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality to meet objectives.
• Lead safety discussions and department safety meetings.
• Support overtime and workforce planning within the department.
