Job summary

ERA Industries, Inc. is seeking a tool crib/warehouse associate in Elk Grove Village, IL. The role involves receiving, storing and issuing fixtures and machine tools, preparing items from tool sheets and maintaining an orderly tool crib. You will inspect tools for wear and ensure records and processes meet quality standards.

Candidates should be able to work in a team, maintain a safe workspace, and follow nonconforming and FOD procedures while contributing to continuous improvement of processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to detect tool wear.
  • Ability to learn skills when no experience exists.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stores and issues fixtures, machine tools, etc., and maintains records of tools issued and returned.
  • Prepare tools and tool holders from tool sheet.
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Maintain tool crib in clean, orderly and well‑maintained condition.
  • Assess tools as needed for defects and wear, visually or using micrometer and reports damage or wear to supervisor.
  • Ensure tools and fixtures are kept in good condition.
  • Follow nonconforming process when needed.
  • Identify when applicable, continuous improvement of processes and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues related to production of parts, safety and quality to immediate supervisor for particular machine or project.
  • Ensure that our FOD program is being adhered to.
  • Handle tools and fixtures in a way that will not cause damage or compromise integrity.
  • In the event of lack of work or another department needing assistance, may be asked to do any of the following but not limited to: Cleaning, Operator, Manual Machining, In-process inspection of ongoing production parts.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and punctuality.
  • Keep clean and organized work area.
  • Willing to work in a team environment.
  • Aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety and ethics.
