Lionshead Precision Metals in Kansas is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to oversee tooling repairs, new tooling, fixtures, and gauges. You will work as part of a team and solve problems under pressure, ensuring high-quality results.

The role emphasizes blueprint reading, GD&T, machining knowledge, and collaboration with internal/external customers. Night shift is included with a 10% premium, full-time schedule on 10-hour nights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience in tool and die, tooling repairs, and fixtures a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform GD&T checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan operations using sketches and blueprints for dies, tools and assemblies.
• Verify finished part dimensions with dial indicators and micrometers.
• Assemble tools and dies, repair gauges, jigs and dies with hand/machine tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot tool issues and perform repairs.
• Interface with customers and team to resolve production issues.
• Select materials meeting project specifications and oversee new tooling implementations.
• Suggest tooling and process improvements and promote safety standards.

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour + 10% night shift premium

Job description:

Job summary:

The tool and die maker will oversee daily operations and ensure the efficiency and efficacy of all processes and procedures related to tooling repairs, new tooling, fixtures, and gauges. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player and a motivated problem-solver with an inquiring mind who can produce high-quality work under pressure.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Use sketches, blueprints, specifications and models to plan operations for the fabrication of dies, tools and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximum efficiency
• Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers and micrometers
• Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and dies and to repair and modify gauges, jigs and dies
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools, manually operated dies and progressive dies
• Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process
• Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications
• Oversee implementation of new tooling and fixtures
• Examine existing tooling and suggest improvements
• Contribute to development of health and safety standards
• Clearly communicate ideas and findings to management and colleagues
• Other duties as assigned
