Job summary

National Machinery seeks a Tool Room Machinist for the 2nd shift in our shop. You will work on precision tooling and tooling components, reading drawings and setting up machines to tight tolerances.

Candidates should have machining experience, familiarity with CAD/CAM systems, and the ability to work independently while meeting production goals. Steel-toed footwear and safety glasses are required in our shop environment.

Qualifications

• Machining background with 3–5 years of experience and vocational training.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming and operating CNC equipment.

TOOL ROOM MACHINIST-Hourly-2nd Shift

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Currently in machining/previous machining background looking for the next step in their career.
• Self-motivated, Goal oriented with good time management
• Basic computer skills, willingness to learn multiple CAD/CAM programs
• Willing to learn many different machine tools and processes taking parts from start to finish with close tolerances.
• Able to work independently and make independent decisions while using creative problem solving and decision skills.
• Proficient with all types of metric measuring tools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches, knowledge of GD&T.
• 3-5 years machining experience including Vocational training.
• Basic knowledge with programing, setting up and running CNC equipment
• Basic knowledge of manual type machines ex: OD/ID grinders, lathes, surface grinders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Tool & Die experience in the cold forming industry
• Can program CNC equipment using Gibbs, ESPRIT capable of reading and editing G & M machine code.
• Experience with Lapping/polishing finished parts
• High level of dexterity and mechanical abilities.
• Machining, inspection, and assembly skills of tooling components.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Shop environment.
• Steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses required.
• Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 lbs.

SCHEDULE

• Standard 8-hour shifts, 150% paid anytime over 8 hours daily, hours over 45 in a week are paid as double time
