Chapter 2, Inc. is a full-service manufacturer specializing in Production Machining, Assembly and Fabrication. We are opening a Tool Maker position on 1st shift to manufacture parts to tight tolerances and support tooling and fixture production.

Ideal candidates have toolmaking experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and reliability; welding knowledge is a plus. We offer a climate-controlled facility, paid holidays, vacation and 401K benefits, with a focus on attendance and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as Tool & Die Maker required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are essential.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Welding knowledge preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts to specifications using lathes, mills, shapers or grinders.
• Build/repair jigs, fixtures, tools, gauges, dies and related parts.
• Develop and execute manufacturing plans based on toolmaking best practices.
• Read blueprints and GD&T; work from sketches or conceptual designs.
• Test assemblies, troubleshoot, and suggest improvements.
• Use precision measuring equipment and maintain tight tolerances.
• Perform routine machine maintenance on equipment.

Tool Maker - 1st Shift Opening

Chapter 2 is a full-service manufacturer that specializes in Production Machining, Assembly and Fabrication services along with Custom Design and Build services in Tooling, Workholding, Automated Machinery and other Engineered Solutions. Chapter 2 is currently opening a toolmaker position on 1st shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manufacture parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Working knowledge and skills in welding preferred.
• Build/Repair custom jigs, fixtures, tools, gages, dies and other products/parts as needed.
• Develop and execute manufacturing plans based on toolmaking best practices.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GDamp;T interpretation. Can also work from conceptual designs and sketches.
• Perform quality control by testing fit and finish of parts/assemblies were applicable. Identify, troubleshoot and develop/suggest solutions to any issues discovered.
• Ability to utilize precision measuring equipment and hold tight tolerances of +/- .0003.
• Perform routine machine maintenance on equipment utilized.

Candidate(s) should be a reliable and responsible individual, able to work independently and well with others. A strong mechanical aptitude is required. Must have an excellent attendance record as well! Previous experience as a Tool amp; Die Maker required. Heavy lifting and standing are required.
