Job summary

Ftc USA in Los Angeles, under general supervision, performs tool and die set-ups and machines/grinds components to support all manufacturing product lines.

Responsibilities include repairing header tools, working with carbide and hardened steels, and operating mills, lathes, grinders, and fixtures to close tolerance. Strong shop math and blueprint reading are essential. Equal employment opportunity is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a tool maker for a manufacturing facility.

Job description

Under general supervision and according to established policy and procedures the tool and die maker is responsible for performing his/her own set-ups and machine/grind all necessary components required to complete assignments given to support all manufacturing product lines.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of slip and press fit relationships.
• Repair Header tools and make complete header tool components.
• Work with carbide, hardened tool steels, dies and cutting tools to close tolerance.
• Work with mills, lathes, surface grinders, hones, and fixtures.
• Use shop math as required.
• Clean and maintain the work area.
