Job summary

Jay Industries, Inc. is seeking a Tool and Die professional for the 3rd shift, on-site in Mansfield, Ohio. You will build, maintain, and repair tooling used in metal stamping and tube manufacturing, read blueprints, and troubleshoot on the production floor.

You will interpret technical drawings, train teammates on tooling practices, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and related equipment used in metal stamping and tube manufacturing.
• Machine and fit components and perform preventive maintenance on tooling.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues on the production floor and ensure tools meet specs and quality standards.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings; train teammates on proper tooling use and SOPs.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Tool and Die role located in Mansfield, OH 3rd shift. The position is responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing tools, dies, fixtures, and related equipment used in metal stamping and tube manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include machining and fitting components, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting tooling issues on the production floor, and ensuring tools meet specifications and quality standards. The role also involves interpreting blueprints. The Tool and Die professional may assist in training other team members on proper tooling use and safe operating procedures to support efficient, reliable manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Strong machining and toolmaking skills, including experience with mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measuring instruments.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and correct tooling, die, and equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and training skills to collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams and to coach others on tooling practices.
• Basic project management capabilities to plan, prioritize, and complete tooling projects and repairs within required timelines.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Knowledge of metal stamping, forming, and manufacturing processes; experience in automotive or heavy equipment sectors is beneficial.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Tool and Die apprenticeship or relevant technical program preferred.
