Job summary

Ferrovial Construction seeks a Design Manager to lead tolling, ITS, and electrical infrastructure design for major transportation projects. You will coordinate with developers, GDOT, system integrators, and the construction team, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to schedule and budget.

The role requires a strong leadership presence, extensive experience in tolling/ITS, and proficiency with CAD/BIM tools, Procore, and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible design and coordination experience on complex transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Experience with tolling, ITS, roadway lighting, power, and communications on PPP or Design-Build projects; GDOT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Bluebeam PDF, MicroStation, and Procore; working knowledge of AGi32 and CAD or BIM platforms.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination, manage consultants and subcontractors, and travel to project sites in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

• Lead tolling, ITS, and electrical design workstream; set priorities, deliverables, and coordination requirements.
• Manage design schedule, budget, resources, risks, interfaces, and consultant/subcontractor scopes.
• Oversee preparation and review of calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, models, and quantity take-offs.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, design criteria, and project specs.
• Coordinate with Developer, GDOT, tolling system integrator, designers, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Lead technical meetings; document decisions and actions; drive issue resolution.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, design changes, and construction-phase support.
• Identify design/construction risks; evaluate alternatives; promote safety and lifecycle performance.
