The Learning Experience – River Vale, NJ is seeking an experienced and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will lead a warm, responsive classroom and support essential routines, making babies feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore.

The ideal candidate has prior professional childcare experience and a High School Diploma or GED, with NJ licensing requirements met. This is a full-time role, with paid training and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional childcare or early childhood education required.
• Toddler classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, nurturing toddler classroom.

Toddler Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Location: The Learning Experience – River Vale, NJ

Pay: $17–$19 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – River Vale is seeking an experienced and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team.

Our Toddler Teacher creates a warm, responsive classroom where babies feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore. We're looking for someone who already has experience caring for infants or young children in a professional childcare setting and is confident supporting the unique routines and developmental needs of our youngest learners.

What You'll Do

• Lead a safe, nurturing, and engaging toddler classroom


• Provide attentive, responsive care throughout the day


• Support individualized feeding, diapering, nap, and daily routines


• Create age-appropriate sensory, movement, language, and early learning experiences


• Encourage cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development


• Observe developmental progress and celebrate important milestones


• Maintain accurate classroom records and daily communication


• Build trusting relationships and communicate regularly with families


• Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and center leadership


• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom


• Follow New Jersey childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required


• Previous professional childcare or early childhood education experience required


• Toddler classroom experience strongly preferred


• Previous Lead Teacher experience is a plus


• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus, but not required


• Comfortable with feeding, diapering, safe sleep practices, and individualized infant routines


• Patient, dependable, nurturing, and confident leading a classroom


• Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
