Job summary

Community Concepts is seeking an experienced Toddler Teacher for our Early Head Start Classroom at the Norway Early Learning Center. The role is 40 hours per week year-round, starting Fall 2026. You will work on a teaching team under a Lead Teacher, planning activities and supporting families.

Starting pay is $18.42–$19.42/hour, with a state wage supplement program. Benefits include health/dental/vision, life and disability, paid time off, holidays, a 403(b) with match, and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; agency-paid CDA or coursework within two years.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in an early child-hood setting; ability to lift and sustain high-energy activities.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications; background checks required.

We are seeking an experienced, energetic Toddler Teachers for our Early Head Start Classroom at our Norway Early Learning Center. A Toddler Teacher is part of a teaching team, under the direction of a Lead Teacher. This position is 40 hours and year-round. Position anticipated to start in Fall 2026.

• Starting Pay Range: $18.42-$19.42/hour depending on education and experience
• This position is currently eligible for an additional monthly wage supplement through the State of Maine Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement Program. The tiered supplements are currently in payments of $240, $360, or $540monthly. Visitmaine.gov/dhhs for more information.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher and contribute to high-quality toddler programming
• Planning activities and tailoring curriculum to meet children's social, emotional, physical, literacy, and cognitive development
• Communicating with and supporting families in meet their children's and families' needs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, with a commitment to complete an agency-paid Child Development Associate credential program or enroll in approved college coursework or a program that will lead to an Associate within two years of the time of hire
• Associate's degree is preferred

Other Requirements:Experience in an early child\text{hood setting; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team; excellent communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities; competency with Microsoft Office; ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, Maine and Federal Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment; valid driver's license and travel within the service area is required.
