Job summary

GFT seeks an experienced Traffic Management Center Operations Manager to lead the Knoxville and Chattanooga TDOT centers, directing real-time traffic operations, incident response, and traveler information across East Tennessee.

You will mentor Shift Supervisors and Technicians, partner with TDOT leadership and law enforcement, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven performance measures in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

Minimum five years in TMC or similar ops with supervision duties.
Public safety or first responder leadership in Tennessee.
Strong knowledge of freeway operations and TIM.
Experience with ATMS or similar software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations for TDOT's Region 1 and Region 2 Traffic Management Centers.
Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
Build partnerships with TDOT leadership and transportation stakeholders.
Ensure operations support safe, efficient travel across the region.
Develop and mentor staff while promoting professional growth.
Use performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Support statewide TS M O initiatives through regional collaboration.
Prepare monthly performance reports and manage staffing and surge coverage.
