Job summary

Prescott School Elementary in Oakland, CA is seeking a TK Early Literacy Tutor (.80 FTE) for the 2026-27 school year. Starting date is immediate with 10 months of work and 3–6 hours per day, as assigned. The role reports to Assigned Supervisor, in a classified, non-exempt environment.

The tutor will provide data-driven literacy support, collaborate with staff, and track progress using benchmarks, with training and coaching available throughout the year. Salary ranges per hour are posted.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in reading, writing and speaking.
• High school diploma or GED required; strong communication skills and reliability.
• Experience using online databases and email daily is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver data-driven literacy instruction to TK–2 students.
• Collaborate with teachers and coaches to plan and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate student records in online systems weekly.
• Participate in scheduled literacy trainings and feedback sessions.
