Job summary

Joaquin Miller Elementary in Oakland is seeking an Early Literacy Reading Tutor to support TK–2 students with evidence-based literacy activities. The position is 6 hours per day (0.8 FTE) for the 2026-27 school year, reporting to Assigned Supervisor.

The tutor will use SIPPS and SEEDS-aligned strategies, track progress in an online database, and collaborate with teachers to improve reading outcomes. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be fluent in English, and show strong

Responsibilities

• Deliver data-driven literacy instruction to TK–2 students.
• Collaborate with lead teacher and coaches to set schedules and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate student progress data in online systems weekly.
• Participate in literacy coaching sessions with a coach twice monthly.
• Attend SEEDS training and SIPPS training as assigned.
