Job summary

The South Carolina DMV seeks a Titling & Licensing Specialist II in Pickens to process licenses, titles, registrations and related documents with accuracy and courtesy.

You will work with banks, dealerships and other offices, administer CDL knowledge tests, verify identity, collect fees, and ensure compliance with SC laws. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to handle peak workloads in a busy office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• Must complete a CDL test examiner trainer course and examination.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check including fingerprints.

Responsibilities

• Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, permits, IDs and titles.
• Manage business customer licensing needs such as licensing, insurance issues and verifying customer numbers.
• Process motor vehicle registration requests and research suspension inquiries.
• Determine services eligibility per SC legislation and DMV policies.
• Administer knowledge tests for CDL licenses."
• Verify eye screenings and review for fraud or license restrictions per policy.
• Answer customer inquiries on driver, vehicle, registration and insurance requirements.
• Operate camera system and DMV software to issue credentials; handle related equipment.
• Collect fees and donations; reconcile daily reports; issue receipts and maintain records.
• Perform related duties as requested by manager (IRP/IFTA, LiveScan, international transactions).
