Job summary

State of South Carolina’s Department of Motor Vehicles seeks a Titling & Licensing Specialist III to issue licenses, IDs, registrations and titles. You will manage licensing for banks, lienholders, dealerships and customers, and perform knowledge tests for drivers. The role requires collaboration, accuracy, and adherence to SC DMV rules.

Relocation within 30 miles may be required. A high school diploma plus clerical experience is required, with CDL training and background check mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with clerical experience.
• Must complete CDL test examiner trainer course and examination.
• Nationwide criminal background check and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, permits and IDs.
• Process motor vehicle registrations and licenses for various vehicle types.
• Verify policies and requirements per SC legislation and DMV guidelines.
• Administer knowledge tests for drivers requesting licenses.
• Handle payments and maintain records per DMV policy.
