About KeySavvy

KeySavvy makes it safe and simple to buy and sell cars, RVs, and other vehicles, whether the deal starts on a marketplace, through a dealer, or with a private seller. We hold funds securely in escrow and manage the entire vehicle title transfer process on the buyer's and seller's behalf, coordinating with lienholders, lenders, and state DMVs across all 50 states so that every transaction closes cleanly, on time, and with a clear title in the right hands.

About the Role

The Title Team Manager leads the team responsible for the accuracy, speed, and compliance of every vehicle title transaction that moves through KeySavvy. This role owns the full title lifecycle, from verifying incoming titles and processing retitles, to resolving liens and title exceptions, to getting titles into the hands of buyers and lienholders. You'll manage a team of title specialists, set the processes and quality bar they work to, and act as the escalation point when a deal's title work gets complicated. This is a hands-on people-management role for someone who is equally comfortable coaching a team and diving into a messy multi-state lien problem themselves.

What You'll Do
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of title clerks/specialists who handle day-to-day title processing for private-party and dealer vehicle deals.
  • Own the end-to-end title lifecycle: title verification, retitling, Special Power of Attorney (SPOA) processing, lienholder payoffs and releases, and title shipment tracking.
  • Resolve title exceptions (unreleased liens, damaged, incorrect, or superseded titles) by working directly with DMVs, lienholders, and lenders nationwide.
  • Monitor aged and in-progress dealer deals, prioritizing the transactions furthest behind to keep every deal moving toward a clean close.
  • Build, document, and continuously refine SOPs, QA checks, and escalation paths for the title team.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Operations and Engineering to spot process gaps and drive improvements or automation into the title workflow.
  • Track team performance (cycle time, throughput, error rates, and aged-deal counts) and report trends and risks to leadership.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk title cases, including suspected fraud, multi-state ELT (Electronic Lien and Title) issues, and unusual lienholder requirements.
  • Ensure the team's work stays current with state-specific DMV title and registration regulations.
  • Handle hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance reviews for the title team.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle title work, DMV operations, dealership title/registration processing, auto lien services, or a comparable title/escrow environment.
  • 1+ years in a people-management, team-lead, or supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle title, lien, and DMV processes including ELT and SPOA across multiple states.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort coordinating directly with lienholders, lenders, DMV staff, and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with data and metrics to track team performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs); experience with CRM or operations tooling is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, relevant experience matters more than a specific credential.
Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $80,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience. KeySavvy also offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and the opportunity to help build core operations at a fast-growing startup.
