Eckard Enterprises, LLC in Texas is seeking a qualified Title Landman to support the Land Department across broad land, acquisition, and operational initiatives. You will collaborate with land, engineering, geology, accounting, legal, and business development teams to manage title work, due diligence, and contracts, driving value for both operated and non-operated assets.

You will interpret leases and regulatory requirements, prepare title opinions, and guide negotiations through closing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of in-house land experience with an oil and gas company.
  • TX Permian Basin, OK Anadarko Basin, ND Williston Basin title and regulatory knowledge.
  • Experience negotiating leases, JOAs, farm-ins, assignments, and other oil and gas contracts.
  • RPL or CPL designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support non-operated assets, acquisitions, operated properties, and land initiatives.
  • Assist with non-operated asset portfolio: ownership matters, well proposals, JOAs, AFEs, title issues, and operator relationships.
  • Lead title due diligence for WI acquisitions; review runsheets, title opinions.
  • Draft and negotiate JOAs, farm-ins, AMIs, P&S agreements, assignments, unit designations.
  • Analyze leases to determine mineral ownership, costs of interest.
  • Review and cure title issues; manage outside land brokers and title attorneys.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and net acreage calculations (NMA, NRA, NRI).
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives.

Eckard Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Title Landman to serve as a key member of the Land Department, supporting a broad range of land, acquisition, and operational initiatives across the company.

Working closely with land, engineering, geology, accounting, legal, and business development teams, this individual will provide land support across multiple disciplines and contribute to the continued growth of the company's operated and non-operated businesses.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated land professional with strong technical knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to independently manage a diverse range of land responsibilities. Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the Land Department supporting non-operated assets, acquisitions, operated properties, and strategic land initiatives
  • Assist with the company's non-operated asset portfolio, including ownership matters, well proposals, JOAs, AFEs, title issues, and operator relationships
  • Support acquisitions and divestitures through land due diligence, title review, contract negotiation, and transaction execution
  • Lead title due diligence on prospective mineral/non-operated WI/operated WI acquisitions, including reviewing runsheets, title opinions, DDR’s and OR’s
  • Draft, review, and negotiate JOAs, farm-ins, AMIs, purchase and sale agreements, assignments, unit designations, and other land-related contracts
  • Analyze and interpret complex leases, contracts, and instruments to determine mineral ownership, rights, obligations, responsibilities, and costs of interest
  • Review, analyze, and cure title issues associated with acquisitions, development projects, and existing assets
  • Lead in managing outside land brokers, title attorneys, and contract land personnel
  • Prepare regulatory filings, applications, and supporting documentation as required
  • Calculate and verify net mineral acres (NMA), net royalty acres (NRA) and net revenue interest (NRI) to validate acquisition models prior to closing
  • Assist with special projects and strategic business initiatives as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of in-house land experience with an oil and gas company
  • Proven experience and knowledge of title and regulatory environments in TX (Permian Basin), OK (Anadarko Basin) and ND (Williston Basin)
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas acquisitions, title, leasing, curative, and development operations
  • Proven experience negotiating leases, JOAs, farm-ins, assignments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and other oil and gas contracts
  • Experience managing land brokers, outside counsel, and contract land personnel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects while collaborating across multiple business disciplines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Experience using land software
  • Registered Professional Landman (RPL) or Certified Professional Landman (CPL) designation is preferred
