Job summary

Stanly County Schools in Albemarle, NC seeks a Title III EL Teacher Assistant for 19.5 hours/week to support EL students and families. The TA collaborates with EL and content teachers to implement lessons and communicate with families during remote learning to meet EL needs.

The role emphasizes assisting with data review, targeted support, and small-group instruction under the EL teacher and principals. Strong English skills required; Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (or higher) required; or a minimum of 48 semester hours college-level coursework.
• CDL with P&S endorsement required.
• Prior experience in instruction and/or supervision of students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with EL and content teachers to identity educational areas of need for the students
• Work with EL and/or content teachers to implement plan lessons and activities
• Give individual attention to the EL’s educational needs
• Keep records and provide information about student progress to the EL and/or content teachers
• Supplement EL services and communicate with families to ensure understanding of educational expectations during remote learning.
• Meet with EL and/or content teacher regularly to discuss student needs and progress
• Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish is also preferred, but not required.
• Other related duties as assigned
