Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools seeks an EL Instructional Liaison for the International & EL Office for the 2026-27 school year. The role focuses on developing a language assistance program for English Learners and coordinating a centralized registration process for international students.

The Liaison collaborates with administrators, teachers, and staff to identify appropriate programs, implement assessments, and provide linguistically adjusted instruction.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate.
• Graduate degree in TESOL, reading, curriculum, administration, social work, or related field.
• Minimum of four years of successful ESOL teaching experience, including leadership role with other teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate identification, assessment, and placement of international and ESOL students.
• Schedule language assistance programs based on intake assessments and family consultation.
• Evaluate transcripts and align schedules with graduation requirements.
• Develop Embassy Report Cards and Attendance Letters for transferrable credits.
• Lead and support PLCs for linguistically diverse learners.
• Attend SBIT meetings to advise on progress monitoring and supports.
• Share language assistance policies at meetings and trainings.
• Maintain EL student data for instructional decision making.
