Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education with ESL emphasis.
• Three years of ESL teaching experience.
• Written and spoken proficiency in English and another language (Spanish preferred).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with ML Family & Community Engagement Specialist to plan, facilitate, and evaluate the International Center operations.
• Interpret student data reports and recommend appropriate Language Instruction Educational Program for language minority students.
• Support the Learning and Language Acquisition Department in collecting and maintaining ELP data; assist schools with ELP data.
• Collaborate with Family Center staff to support enrollment and lottery processes for language minority students.
• Collaborate with CMS departments, schools, and NC DPI to maintain ELP data and generate reports.
• Ensure ML student data integrity in Power School and NC DPI databases for LEP and related reports.
• Assist schools and departments in obtaining accurate ELP data.
• Respond to data requests from CMS departments.
• Carry out IC functions including enrollment, ELP testing, and parent communications.
• Provide LEP services to low-incidence schools without a dedicated LEP presence.
• Ensure data quality for language minority students as they enroll and in IC process.
• Administer state-identified English Language Proficiency tests at schools and IC.
• Perform related work as assigned.
