Job summary

The Cobb County School District is seeking a Tutor, Title I at Pearson Middle School in Marietta, GA. This position provides targeted academic support under the Title I program to help students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities include regular attendance, collaboration with teachers via email, tracking student progress, and maintaining records of tutoring hours. A Bachelor’s degree and valid Georgia teaching certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree required.
• Georgia Teaching Certificate required.
• Experience not required; preferred but not necessary.
• Routine physical activities are part of the job responsibilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; be motivated, well-organized and a positive role model.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Provides academic assistance in the student’s area of greatest need on a regular basis.
• Collaborates with the student’s teacher via email concerning student needs, strengths and weaknesses.
• Engages students in appropriate academic activities.
• Helps students develop strong study skills.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with students.
• Maintains records of student progress.
• Provides evaluations and reports to Title I Department in a timely manner.
• Reports tutoring hours to assigned Tutor contact.
• Participates in scheduled meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
