Job summary

The Cobb County School District is seeking a Title I part-time math tutor for Belmont Hills Elementary in Smyrna, GA. The role supports grades 3-5 with targeted math instruction under the Title I program.

Requires a Bachelor Degree and GA Teaching Certificate; prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities include collaboration with classroom teachers, tracking progress, and reporting tutoring hours to the Title I supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree required; Georgia Teaching Certificate desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with teachers and Title I staff.
• Motivated, well-organized and a positive role model for students.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Provides academic assistance in targeted areas of greatest need.
• Collaborates with the student’s teacher via email concerning needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Engages students in appropriate academic activities.
• Helps students develop strong study skills.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with students.
• Maintains records of student progress.
• Provides evaluations and other reports as requested by Title I Department in a timely manner.
• Reports tutoring hours to an assigned Tutor contact.
• Participates in scheduled meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
