Qualifications

• Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education or has an associate’s degree.
• Passing score on the ParaPro Test.
• Knowledge of reading, writing, and math instruction.
• Ability to operate computer programs and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and application of the elements of effective instruction.
• Uses instructional techniques and data collection methods.
• Assists certified teacher in data collection for needs assessment and evaluation.
• Maintains records on student work, personal data and test scores as required.
• Provides assistance to certified teacher in small group or individual instruction.
• Communicates with parents in a professional manner and participates in parent activities as requested.
• Works cooperatively with district staff and outside agencies as required.
