Job summary

South Bend Junior Academy, part of the South Bend Community School Corp, is seeking an After-School Tutor Aide to support Title I reading, language arts, and math interventions after school hours in South Bend, Indiana. The role reports to the Building Principal and Title I Director and operates as an hourly, part-time position.

Responsibilities include working with small groups or individuals under supervision, coordinating with certified teachers, and ensuring a positive, supportive learning

Qualifications

• College degree, completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university or successful completion of the Para-Pro examination.
• Ability to follow directions; work as a team with staff and students, and display mature and professional judgment when dealing with students and adults. Prior experience in working with children in a primary school environment is desirable.
• Individuals with previous experience working in a school setting will be given priority.

Responsibilities

• Works individually or in small groups with students under the direct supervision and in close proximity of a certified teacher providing intervention support in reading, language arts, and math for the after school tutoring program
