Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours with a certified transcript on file
• Must have an Associate’s degree or higher
• Must provide Missouri ParaPro or Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (dates specified)
• Must have completed Missouri’s 20-hour online substitute training program

Responsibilities

• Develop yearly work schedules in collaboration with the principal, Literacy Coach, and classroom teacher
• Assist the classroom teacher in meeting student needs without being in charge of the entire class
• Under supervision, help develop lesson plans for students
• Avoid physical discipline; use verbal correction and refer serious issues to the teacher
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and collaborate with teachers and counselors
• Work with small groups or in regular classroom settings to provide supplemental instruction
• Possess ability to work with no more than six students at a time and support class size up to 15 with a certified teacher
• Cannot be pulled away from Title I duties to serve as substitutes
