Job summary

Ball State University’s Burris Laboratory School is seeking a dedicated Title I Paraprofessional to support reading and math for Title I students. The role is 30 hours per week over 10 months, collaborating with the Title I teacher and classroom staff to implement targeted literacy and math strategies.

You will monitor student progress, participate in trainings (including literacy methods like Orton-Gillingham), and help create interventions while maintaining FERPA privacy and professional

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or two years of related experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • One year experience working with students in a school setting.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support for reading and math mastery through tutoring and small-group work.
  • Apply Tier 2 and 3 literacy strategies and communicate student needs clearly.
  • Support differentiation accommodations while monitoring students with teachers.
  • Complete Title 1 trainings and certifications annually as required.
  • Incorporate literacy methods such as Orton-Gillingham in daily instruction.
  • Design interventions and progress monitoring with teachers.
  • Maintain confidentiality under FERPA and protect student information.
  • Organize assessment results and file records for Title 1 and teachers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
