Job summary

Ball State University seeks a dedicated Title I Paraprofessional to support Burris Title 1 students with reading and math literacy strategies. The role is a 10-month position, up to 30 hours weekly, aligning with Indiana DOE requirements and supporting classroom teachers and interventionists.

The role requires an Associate degree (or 2 years related experience), one year of school-based experience, and a commitment to confidentiality under FERPA.

Qualifications

• Provide academic support for reading and math mastery to students.
• Use Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy strategies.
• Assist with monitoring and differentiation accommodations.
• Complete annual Title I trainings and certifications per Indiana DOE.
• Incorporate literacy methods such as Orton Gillingham in daily instruction.

Responsibilities

• Tutor reading and math individually or in small groups.
• Apply literacy strategies and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with Title 1 and classroom teachers to design interventions.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and organize student assessment results.
