Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Instructional Associate to support teachers by working with students individually or in small groups, reinforcing lessons, and monitoring progress.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional materials, supervising students in various school settings, and collaborating with teachers and EITs to tailor strategies for diverse learners. A valid driver’s license and transportation are required, with 10 months of work per year.

Qualifications

  • Requires at least one of: Associate's degree, 48 college credits, or passing a formal assessment (WorkKeys) with 96 hours of in-service training.
  • Preferred experience includes at least 3 years working with children.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to individual student needs and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Support teachers and EITs with prepared lessons and materials.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and during activities.
  • Record attendance, manage materials, and assist with assessments and portfolios.
  • Participate in professional development and school meetings.
