Overview: 9 months, full-time, 37.5 hours/week. Duties include lesson prep, supervision, attendance, and materials management, under principal guidance. Valid transportation and professional development participation are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 college credits completed.
• Must pass WorkKeys assessment and complete 96 hours in-service training.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license or have own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Prepare lesson materials and displays for assigned classrooms.
• Discuss duties with teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Assist with attendance procedures, record keeping, and materials ordering.
• Participate in daily transportation duties for student arrivals and departures.
• Participate in professional development and other meetings.
