Job summary

National Heritage Academies' Summit Creek Academy in Browns Summit, NC seeks a Title I paraprofessional to support students with behavioral and academic interventions. You will collaborate with certified staff to monitor progress and communicate with families, ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment.

You will partner with community resources, participate in professional development, and help maintain records of student contacts and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma; Associate's degree preferred.
• Must meet State certification and qualification requirements.
• Decisive leadership skills and school culture development skills are preferred.
• Experience managing student behavior and assisting educators with behavior management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-instructional services for a caseload of eligible and identified Title I students whose behaviors significantly interfere with their academic growth in core content areas.
• Services will include daily monitoring of student achievement and learner behaviors through check-in with certified staff, such as a social worker or counselor, on matters such as completion of assignments, specific academic struggles, and behavioral issues.
• Daily contacts with students and support through conferencing, in-class assistance, data monitoring, and implementation of behavior plans with certified staff.
• Design diverse opportunities for parents to participate with staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating behavioral and academic interventions.
• Develop an ongoing progress reporting system to inform parents/guardians of behavioral and academic achievements.
• Establish collaborative relationships with community organizations to provide a wide range of support services for student success.
• Participate in professional development to ensure knowledge of research-based strategies.
• Collect and report evaluation data on the impact of behavior interventions for Title I students.
• Complete Time and Effort reports for personnel funded by federal funds as required.
• Assist in implementing Functional Behavior Analysis Process and Behavior Plans (BCAPS).
• Lead professional development for staff related to applied behavioral analysis.
• Support outreach to parents and guardians—including same-day outreach for absences—via phone and digital platforms, maintaining accurate records.
