Job summary

Saint Matthew Cathedral School in South Bend, IN seeks a Title I After School Tutor to support identified Title I students after the regular school day. You will provide intervention in reading, language arts and math within the after school tutoring program and report to the Building Principal and Director of Title I.

Two years of classroom teaching experience and a K-8 teaching license (HQ) are required. The position is full-time with an hourly contract rate; citizenship or work authorization

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Title I

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Title I Academic Tutor works directly with identified Title I students that are failing or at risk of failing providing intervention support in reading, language arts, and math for the after school tutoring program

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of effective classroom teaching experience
• Thorough and complete knowledge of Indiana Academic Math and Reading/Language Arts Standards
• Proven leadership ability
• An explicit understanding of effective Math and Reading/Language Arts curriculum and instructional practices
• Appropriate Licensing to teach K-8, HQ
