Job summary

Our Lady of Hungary in South Bend, IN is seeking a Title I After School Tutor to support identified Title I students with reading, language arts, and math after school.

The role reports to the Building Principal and Director of Title I, requires at least 2 years of teaching experience and knowledge of Indiana standards. This is a full-time position with a focus on student intervention and achievement.

Qualifications

• Two years of effective classroom teaching experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Indiana Math and Reading/Language Arts Standards.
• Proven leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Title I Academic Tutor works directly with identified Title I students that are failing or at risk of failing providing intervention support in reading, language arts, and math for the after school tutoring program.
• Support after school tutoring sessions led by building staff and coordinate with teachers.
• Assist with progress monitoring and reporting to the Building Principal and Director of Title I.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Title I Academic Tutor works directly with identified Title I students that are failing or at risk of failing providing intervention support in reading, language arts, and math for the after school tutoring program

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of effective classroom teaching experience


• Thorough and complete knowledge of Indiana Academic Math and Reading/Language Arts Standards


• Proven leadership ability


• An explicit understanding of effective Math and Reading/Language Arts curriculum and instructional practices


• Appropriate Licensing to teach K-8, HQ
