Job summary

HNE is seeking a Title Claims Analyst to support mortgage servicing operations by researching and resolving title issues, reviewing property records and title policies, and assisting with title insurance claims.

The ideal candidate will have experience with title insurance, mortgage servicing, property records, or legal/title research and be able to review complex documents and research title issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of related experience in title insurance, mortgage servicing, title research, property records, or similar field.
• Strong understanding of title insurance and property law terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review title reports, property records, and title policies to identify issues affecting lien position, ownership, or conveyance.
• Research and investigate potential title issues and determine appropriate next steps for resolution.
• Review legal documents, loan documents, title policies, regulations, and investor guidelines.
• Research property records using vendor databases and online resources.
• Collaborate with attorneys, title companies, and insurance underwriters to resolve title issues and determine whether a title insurance claim should be filed.
• Gather and organize documentation needed to submit title insurance claims.
• Maintain accurate records of title issues, claims, resolutions, correspondence, and timelines.
• Investigate title concerns raised through borrower correspondence.
• Review homeowner and condominium association liens for potential priority or super-lien issues.
• Review attorney fee requests and assist with approvals or disputes when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate notes and documentation within company systems and imaging platforms.
• Monitor assigned tasks and attorney responses to ensure timely follow-up.
• Identify and elevate potential lien priority issues, financial losses, or other risks to management.
• Assist with documenting and improving department processes and procedures.
• Provide support and guidance to team members on more complex title issues as needed.
