HTU in Phoenix, AZ seeks an instructional support assistant to work under a qualified teacher, helping plan lessons for small groups and individuals and supporting students in reading and math mastery.

You will collect scores, monitor progress, assist with i-Ready progress monitoring, and maintain a safe, confidential learning environment while communicating with teachers as needed.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing instructional support to students under the direct supervision of a highly qualified teacher.
  • Assisting in collecting and compiling student scores and records in the Title I program.
  • Helping plan lessons and activities for smaller groups or individuals as directed by the teacher.
  • Tutoring and assisting students individually or in small groups to help them master reading and math concepts and reinforce learning.
  • Discussing assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Observing students' performance and recording relevant data to assess progress.
  • Assisting teachers in administering i-Ready progress monitoring.
  • Performing other duties related to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining a safe, risk-free working and learning environment by prioritizing student well-being, establishing cooperative relationships, reporting concerns such as substance use or child abuse, and following district policies.
  • Operating and caring for school district equipment properly.
  • Participating in in-services, workshops, or conferences as directed to enhance job performance.
  • Responding promptly and courteously to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining responsible, reliable, and punctual behavior.
  • Exercising positive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
