Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network seeks a dedicated Tissue Recovery Technician to recover donor tissues using aseptic technique and surgical instruments. You will support mission-driven care, prep and drape donors, and assist with tissue culture, packaging, and transport within the service area.

You will work in a hospital and recovery setting, require flexibility for 12- to 24-hour shifts, and may advance to Tissue Recovery Coordinator after training. EMT or biology background preferred.

Qualifications

• EMT-P, EMT-B, CST or ORT, or HS diploma/GED with 6 months tissue banking experience or 18 months related experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related field with anatomy lab experience
• Experience maintaining proper aseptic technique and using surgical instruments

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission, vision and core values with compassionate service
• Use surgical instruments to recover authorized donor tissue
• Participate in tissue recovery processes: load/unload equipment, decontaminate instruments, transport donors, set up supplies
• Act as a preceptor to new employees
• Attend department events outside regular hours
• Other duties as assigned
