Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an Organ Tissue Recovery Technician for Lifeshare. The role performs aseptic recovery of tissues from donors, handling and transporting specimens in a hospital setting.

High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree or CTBS certification is preferred. Operating room experience is desirable, with 40 hours per week and travel beyond 100 miles as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or CTBS certification preferred.
• CTBS may be required per department if processing in eye bank.
• Operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs aseptic recovery of tissue including eyes, bones, ligaments, tendons, heart valves, vessels, and skin according to department policies and procedures.
• Lifts, positions and transports donors at the donor hospital, using Surgical Sterile Technique.
• Collects blood samples from donors and properly labels, packages and ships to the receiving lab.
• Maintains donor and tissue records under the guidance of QA Coordinator and supervision of the Manager.
